Sven started skydiving in 2004 and has over 18,500 jumps. He has set previous records for most solo jumps in 24 hours, first with 50 jumps and then with 157 jumps. Sven holds several Canadian and International records in Canopy Piloting, most notably the World Canopy Piloting Championship in 2022. He has jumped on all seven continents and has the pleasure of sharing the sky all over the world with his wife Heather.

Join us September 22, 2025 at Dare County Regional Airport (rain dates: Sept. 23–25) for an official Guinness World Record attempt — Most Tandem Parachute Jumps in 24 Hours by an Individual — by the owners of Skydive OBX!

History: The most tandem parachute jumps by an individual in 24 hours is 105 and was achieved by both Luther Kurtz (USA) and Angela Bishop (USA) at Harbor Springs Airport in Harbor Springs, Michigan, USA, from 29-30 June 2010. Kurtz and Bishop are brother and sister, with Kurtz serving as the instructor on all jumps and Bishop as his tandem traveler. More info here.

Sven and Heather will be attempting to do at least 106 jumps. Their plan is to start at 3:30am and go until the record is broken. It will be a long and exciting day for them. The excitement doesn’t stop there for the crowd. We will have all sorts of activities, food, vendors and lots of great prizes. All proceed going to the SPCA and Room in the Inn see below to donate.

Heather did her first tandem skydive in 2000. She met Sven at a skydiving center in Florida when she was doing her third tandem jump. Heather has done around 700 jumps, including two jumps in Antarctica. She has jumped on six continents and loves doing the splits in the sky when she gets the chance. Heather is a successful Realtor on the Outer Banks and, in any free time she can find, loves traveling the world with Sven and their rescue pups.

Sven and Heather opened Skydive OBX on the Outer Banks of NC in 2011, and they work, travel, and play together. They share a love for rescue animals and have adopted four senior chihuahuas over the last several years.

Both Heather and Sven have a passion for travel but agree that home is the best place on earth, which is why they chose to support their local SPCA and Room in the Inn with any and all proceeds from this event.

Sven has already taken Heather for more than 20 tandem jumps and looks forward to breaking the world record with her.
